The dead soft is very hard to work with. We only use it when we are making complicated wraps, and need to be able to do a lot of bending before the wire work hardens. For what you are doing, the half-hard is just right.

Hi Steve,
I am new to wire wrapping in 14K gold. As a special gift, I am making earrings by wire wrapping two 1 1/2" long briolette crystal tear drops. I might add smaller crystal 4mm bicone drops to hang off the wrapped loop. Should I use dead soft or half hard 20g for the briolette and the same for 24g wire for smaller beads?
Thanks,
Carolyn Schaefer
