We ship via USPS Priority Mail to United States addresses for prompt delivery. We charge $4.75 for all
US orders, which is the minimum rate for Priority Mail, no matter how much the shipping actually costs and represents
the May 11th, 2008 increase. If the actual shipping cost is more than $4.75, we pay the difference. The orders ship
with the next Carrier pickup, frequently the same day, as our Carrier usually arrives around 3:00PM.
The same goes for Priority Mail International to Canada which costs an outrageous $17.00. If the actual
cost is more than $17.00 we pay the difference. This too is an increase over the already outrageous price of $16.00.
The reason we ship via Priority Mail is for price and convenience. Within the United States, it is priced
about what you expect to pay for Parcel Post, and much quicker. I can print out mailing labels at either PayPal
or the USPS Click-n-Ship site, which include paid postage and free Delivery Confirmation. The USPS sends me
free packages for Priority Mail, which saves time and expenses. I can also schedule pickups from my Letter
Carrier, when sending Priority Mail.
More on shipping to Canada: It came down to shipping first class which is reasonable priced, shipping via Priority
Mail International, which is unreasonable priced, or not to sell to Canadian customers at all. Shipping first class
involved trips to the office supply store to buy packaging, a buck or two, but the real deal buster is the trip to
our Post Office to ship the package. We waited at the Post Office yesterday for 45 minutes, time I did not have to
spend. I know I am losing a lot of Canadian customers because of shipping costs, and I understand the aggravation.
As a bonus, after filling out the 4-part Customs forms, our customers are charged additional taxes.
